Stress Busting  [14/8/2004 23:29:02]

Well,

Stress is prevalent in all call centers and it kind of depends on the employee grade as to how you solve the problem.

For me questions like:

“Someone’s stolen my handset (note NOT headset) what are YOU going to do about it?”

Or:

“Someone’s changed my password to MAX over the weekend (I’m the only administrator), can you tell me what it is?”

Are likely to incur my wrath…

There’s nothing that can’t be solved with a bigger hammer (and that includes (l)users).

It’s my dreams that keep me going ;-)

I always find walking outside and talking a deep breath of fresh air always helps, some simple Tai Chi then at the end of the day large quantities of very loud roak music.

roak

Roke \Roke\, n. [See Reek.] 1. Mist; smoke; damp [Prov. Eng.] [Written also roak, rook, and rouk.]

2. A vein of ore. [Pov.Eng.] --Halliwell.

You have been living in the country for too long have't you?

Next think you'll be "A-spying a maiden one fine morning"
from there it's downhill through the Fol-diddle-de-fol's and the
next think you know it's the beard, bells, clogs, ribbons and a white outfit.

Why not try here LINK FOR NICK

Q's  [18/8/2004 10:36:21]

Rather than quoting me happy how about providing a happness quote.

"Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and
think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time."

10 points for any one who can guess who came up with this.

Sorry to be boring, but in response to the original post of this thread there is some good stuff at nhs direct.

Try this link at NHSDirect.

Also, any search engine (yahoo, google etc) will throw up useful info.

Hope this helps

stress  [18/8/2004 11:42:26]

although Dave has turned this into a bit of a funny, the original point is very valid. However the fact that we have taken a serious issue and poked fun at it is in itself a form of stress relief. At the end of the day the best form of stress management is to remember that 1 you are only human, 2 the people you are dealing with are only human 3 the pc was programmed by a human.

Remember, every time you've ever got stressed about anything in the past, it never ends up being as stressful as you thought?!
