Has anyone done any webinars like this, and is it worth the money?  [24/10/2003 17:38:06]

http://www.thecallcenterschool.com/wswfmmastertrack.html

$275 USD for a 90-minute web seminar seems a bit pricey to me (and my boss!)...wondering if anyone here has 'attended' one and if they found it worth the money.

Thanks,
Jen aka SFK

Jen,

Sorry do you mind if I abbreviate?

Humm,

Looking at the syllabus.

Gut call,

Don't do it.

What do you want to know?

Drop us aline first / post it here. There's far more knowledge in thisforum that any trainer can give you.

It's alot of money.

John/Lindsay would have my Ba**S if I put an advert in here (Are you reading?) (# of course we are reading Dave !! Lindsay )

I'm looking at moving to consultancy in the next year, but aimed at the smaller
center that doesn't have the cash to implement WFM software etc.

In the meantime me E-Mail addys there. Drop me a line and I'll try o help.

FOC of course.

It annoys me that the vendors try to shove Cap-Ex down the small CC's throat
as a necessary expenditure, and that "We can sort all your problems" companies are willing to rip your arm off for business(Sorry for "We can sort all your problems"; please substitue "Turnkey")

As I've done in the past if I can help yell.

DaveA

P.S

Sorry about the above but today I had quite an insulting E-Mail from
a 1-2 time poster here who basically accused me of the help I'd given in the past being touting (sp?) for work, with particualr reference to the WFFM/Erlang package I designed.

IMHO that defeats the whole object of why we're here.

Unfortunatly I'm cynical enough to expect my work Here
to appear somewhere else.

Sad I know..........

Jen, I had a look and must agree with Dave on this one. I also agree that all of our colleagues and peers on CCV would be able to help you more for free, there are some real experts in their respective fields here and most of us give tailored feedback depending on the question asked.

Not meaning to decry the technology and the dissemination of information via the web as I think that all communication channels should be exploited in the quest for knowledge, and the company concerned seem to know their target market well.

Perhaps your equipment suppliers would be able to suggest another installation that you could visit and discuss with the personnel involved tactics etc? Most suppliers have a centre of excellence that they use to promote their solution and are usually quite keen for their customers to gain the most ROI from their equipment spend.

Hope it helps,

Regards,

Ian

Thanks guys...  [27/10/2003 05:05:16]

My issue was mostly long-term forecasting manually (using Excel) because two of the call centres I support at work are not yet in eWFM so everything is done manually. I had a bit of a revelation this week (read, lightbulb finally came on lol) and figured out just what to do with the customer base info I got from marketing. I'm still fairly new to all of this (I wish I had a book with all this info so I'd have something to look at when I forgot something..)

That's the only reason I was looking into the web seminar. I think I will pass on it though...but is there any formal 'workforce management analyst' training out there? I took the training for Aspect eWFM software but that doesn't tell you really how to understand what's going on there. It's like, I'm fine with the 'workforce management' part of what I do, but need help on the 'analyst' portion. LOL :)

I'm sure I'll be posting here a lot.
Thanks!
Jen

Workforce Mgnmt  [6/11/2003 02:42:06]

Jen,

I manage the workforce managment team and have several analyst that work for me. I see that you don't have a problem with the workforce side...however; I need a little more detail as to what part you need assistance with. You say analyst side...this could mean many things....if you really want to get into the guttsss with erlang...etc...then there are several avanues to take...but trust me...unless you are a math person...it will drive you CRAZY...
