Microsoft Excel Course  [10/3/2006 22:00:20]

Our company is looking at creating a series of courses to instruct employees on the use of MS Excel. We're trying to provide courses to develop phone agents who have little to no experience with excel so that they will have the skills and kowlledge needed to perform administrative rolls.

Right now we're struggling to find an affordable set of text books. If anyone can recomend a good set of text books that could be used for an MS Excel course, it would be greatly appreciated.

Also any feedback on instructional models would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

ECDL  [14/3/2006 09:44:31]

Have you had a look at the European Computer Driving Licence?

The European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) is a qualification in personal computing recognised across the EU.

It assesses the student’s competence in seven areas:

• Basic Concepts of IT
• Using the Computer and Managing Files
• Word Processing
• Spreadsheets
• Databases
• Presentations
• Information and Communication

The key benefit of ECDL staff for the employer is an increase in productivity. A study by Manchester NHS Health Authority in 2002 has shown that ECDL qualified staff save an average of 38 minutes per day.

Information on the ECDL can be found at www.ecdl.co.uk

Cheers!
