Role Plays - Professional Interactive Behaviour  [2/5/2006 11:15:06]

Hi,

If I can get some links on Professional Interactive Behaviour, mainly to deal with Role Plays which would keep the audience going.

Roleplaying  [2/5/2006 14:44:07]

Some of my favorite management courses I have taken have to do with role playing.

While I don't have any links I want to relate a quick story (hopefully what you are looking for).

Two people are selected, one giving feedback...one receiving feedback...

Both are given info cards hidden from everyone, read them then the role playing starts.

The funny thing is that the cards are matched up but often have very different views.

ie: Manager has a card saying "you have a low performer on your team and even though you have tried helping him his performance is getting worst, he also has a body odor problem you need to address"

ie: Agent has a card saying "your manager doesn't respect you or understand your situation. Your wife recently left you and you are living out of your car"

Then you start the feedback session and see fireworks, you learn a lot and it's often quite comical.

Prashant,

My knowledge tells me that you may find this extremely difficult. Role plays are well guarded by consultancies, role play companies and training designers/facilitators. Many are bespoke intellectual property and considerable time and effort and development has gone into them. They are usually very reluctant to share them.

Role plays ...  [5/5/2006 19:38:56]

Prashant,

I have to agree, I think what you are looking for will be hard to find online etc as most training and development companies will design role play exercises specific to each clients requirements and facilitate these for them.

You maybe able to find something online if you use one of the major search engines however I think as he said, these will be few and far between and you may have to pay the companies to clear copyright and intellectual copyright.

Happy hunting!

Neil
