Important Information for all e-mail users:
Please be aware that there is a new virus on the go which arrives at your computer via e-mail.
You are receiving a message ( likely to be from someone you know or who you have had contact withvia e-mail )with an attachment in English or Spanish.
The e-mail says..........Hi How are you ? I have attached a file for your advice / I hope that you can help with some advice on the file that I send / This is the file of information that youasked for. The e-mail finishes by saying ' see you later. Thanks ' and it is not signed by the person or company.
PLEASE DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENTS !! A worm copies the data and information that you hold on your computer / within your networkedcomputers and then send them to random addresses within your Windows address book. This then passes on the virus to another user.
Handie Hints to avoid e-mail virus transmitions :
* delete suspicious e-mails from unknown senders
* use an e-mail scanning package and up date it regularly.
* back up critical information regularly
* consider saving all your files to Rich Text Format. RTF files do not support macros, which account for the vast majority of virus problems.
