Aspect E-pro (End of Life)  [14/4/2009 11:44:11]

I understand from a recent conversation with an Aspect user that Aspect have told their E-pro platform customers that the platform will be end of life from December 2010. This is apparently with a view to migrate them onto their new Unified IP solution.

Does anyone have any further information on this.

ie, can you confirm or deny?
Is this a big issue or a small upgrade?

Regards
Jason

Response from Aspect..  [20/4/2009 19:52:04]

'The Ensemble Pro products are moving through the life cycle matrix and will reach end of life (December 31, 2010 per their lifecycle matrix). The upgrade path is the Aspect Unified IP system. We are currently on release 6.6 of this product, with a new release slated for the middle of the year. The difficulty of the upgrade is dependent on a number of factors. In most cases the hardware that is running the Ensemble pro needs to be replaced for Unified IP. Your inside sales rep can answer any question on programs that may be going on for these upgrades.'
So yes, the info you heard is correct and with the probable hardware upgrades, I would think it's a big deal.

Aspect Update  [20/4/2009 20:31:38]

Actually another person from Aspect just emailed me and told me that Unified IP *IS* Ensemble Pro. They just changed the name after version 6.1.
So now I actually think it wouldn't be a big deal unless you're on older hardware that needs to be upgraded.
